Payment of Tuition

  • Registration, Material fee, and tuition can be paid by cash or check (payable to Melody in Me).
  • Registration & Material fee is paid to reserve your space in the class one week before each semester starts.
  • All fees apply only to the course enrolled for and cannot be later transferred to other courses, other family members or subsequent sessions except the cancellation of the class.  
  • Tuition will get 5% off discount for 2nd and more family members.  
  • The Registration & Material Fee is not refundable.  
  • Returned checks will be subject to a $20 fee. 
  • Tuition and Fees are subject to change without notice.

Paid By Semester
  • Tuition is paid by semester and is due before first class starts in each semester.
  • A $10 late fee will be assessed for tuition received one week late. 
  • If a student wishes to withdraw the class, notification must be given one week before the semester starts for full refund of tuition.  
  • If the withdraw notification is given by the end of 4th week of the semester, a 50% of tuition will be refunded.  
  • If the withdraw notification is given after the 4th week of the semester, tuition is not refundable.

Paid By Month:
  • The tuition of the whole month should be paid in full before the first class of each month.
  • A $10 late fee will be assessed for tuition received 15th day of each month. 
  • If a student wishes to withdraw the class, notification must be given before the month lesson starts for full refund of tuition.  
  • If the withdraw notification is given before the 2nd week of class, a 50% of tuition will be refunded.  
  • If the withdraw notification is given after the 2nd week of class, tuition is not refundable.
  • For Intro sessions (4-week sessions) and Summer sessions, Tuition refund follow this same policy.



Referrals

  • We would like to reward current students for referring new students to Melody in Me Music Studio. For referring a registering/paying student (new students only) to fall or spring semesters, you will receive $10.00 credit towards tuition.  


Punctuality
  • Classes begin on time.  
  • Please arrive a few minutes early to give you and your child time to get settled in.  
  • Please wait in Play/waiting room when the lesson has not completed in the classroom.
  • Please be on time, as the lesson will end at the time scheduled.



Attendance

  • Regular attendance is extremely important for your child's success. 
  • Missing class frequently will result in your child falling behind the other students.  Often this negatively influences their desire to practice and continue music class.  
  • Nursing babies are the only other siblings allowed in class with the parent. 
  • Siblings and guests may wait in the play room during the class time.
  • PARENTS or CAREGIVERS MUST ATTEND with students through the 3rd grade or until the student is reading and writing proficiently. 
  • Parents or caregivers are encouraged to attend with children between ages 8 and 11 yrs.  Many parents choose to stay longer because they find it is beneficial to their child and they enjoy the class experience. The adult attending class needs to be the same person as often as possible as they will be responsible for overseeing practice and answering questions at home. It is best to have one adult with each child when there are two siblings in the same class.



Missed Lessons
For Group Lessons:
  • Missed lessons will not be refunded or prorated (unless otherwise arranged with the teacher). 
  • Due to the setting of the group lessons, missed lessons will not be rescheduled.  Please check the home activities and call or email or skype for support if needed.  24-hour advance notice must be given if lesson audio recording needed.  
  • When there is a parallel class with a keyboard available, student may attend the parallel session in same week.  Contact studio to obtain dates, times and availability.  
  • If you are aware of any future conflicts (i.e. vacations, etc.) affecting multiple lessons, please notify the teacher a month prior.  The teacher will try to arrange a makeup session at a time mutually convenient for the student and the teacher.
  • Missed make-up session won't be rescheduled.
  • Lessons canceled by the teacher will be rescheduled at a time mutually convenient for the student and teacher. You will be given a courtesy call or email by the teacher if your lesson is canceled.
  • In the case of an emergency or prolonged illness, we will make every attempt to accommodate your's and the student's needs.

For Private Lessons:
  • Missed lessons will not be refunded or prorated (unless otherwise arranged with the teacher).  
  • 24-hour advance notice must be given in order to reschedule a missed lesson.  
  • The lesson fee will be charged if "No-shows" or lesson cancellations on short (less than 24 hours’ notice) , or no notice.
  • Lesson credits / rescheduled lessons will not be carried over to the next month (unless otherwise arranged with the teacher).
  • If you are aware of any future conflicts (i.e. vacations, etc.), please notify the teacher a month prior so these dates won’t be included on your next invoice, or you will be charged for them.
  • Missed make-up session won't be rescheduled.
  • Lessons canceled by the teacher will be rescheduled at a time mutually convenient for the student and the teacher. You will be given a courtesy call or email by the teacher if your lesson is canceled.
